TOPIC : Tourist Attraction

OBJECTIVE : At the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a short description of a famous                          landmark they have visited using a postcard and incorporating appropriate adjectives.

LEARNING OUTCOMES : At the end of the class, students should be able to :

1. Write a short paragraph or description of a famous landmark they chose as their holiday destination using at least three adjectives.

2. Write a short paragraph describing a tourist attraction to their friend or family using a postcard.

LANGUAGE FOCUS : Writing Skill

EDUCATIONAL EMPHASIS : The use of critical thinking ability, creative thinking skills to analyze information and convey them as understandable and accurate message.

VALUES: Student will learn the importance of having a good rapport between their friends and family members. 

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS : Computer for each pair, Projector for slides, Internet connection

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE : Students can create simple sentences and have understood the usage of subject verb agreement (S.V.A).

SET INDUCTION
(5 minutes)
Ø  Teacher asks the students on how was their previous class.
Ø  Teacher advices on the importance of remembering and appreciating your loved ones.
Ø  Teacher shows a picture of a famous place which is Taj-Mahal using the slides.
Ø  Teacher explains the wonders of Taj-Mahal.
Ø  Student responds by answering the teacher’s remarks appropriately.
Ø  Students listen attentively and imagine how Taj-Mahal is through the description of the teacher.
DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITY 1
 (10 minutes)
Ø  Teacher introduces the topic for today which is writing.
Ø  Teacher asks students to describe the Taj-Mahal using sentences with adjectives.
Ø  Teacher gives example of adjectives suitable for describing places and tourist attraction on the slide.
Ø  Teacher asks students to open the link to a website containing adjectives on https://www.esolcourses.com/content/exercises/grammar/adjectives/places/words-for-describing-places.html or other suitable websites on adjectives.
Ø  Teacher begins to explain the adjectives and verbally asks students to create sentences incorporating the adjectives.
Ø  Students are introduced to the topic.
Ø  Students follow the instructions of the teacher.
Ø  Students cooperate with the teacher through the session.
Ø  Students open the link on the slide given or search for their own websites containing choices of adjectives.
Ø  Students volunteer to verbally give their sentences with adjectives.
DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITY 2
(20 minutes)
Ø  Teacher asks the students to move in pairs.
Ø  Teacher gives instruction on today’s lesson which is writing a postcard using adjectives to your friends or family and shows it on the slide.
Ø  Teacher instructs students to write and create the postcard on https://www.canva.com/templates/postcards/. and open the link for 100 famous tourist attraction http://designlike.com/100-most-famous-landmarks-around-the-world/
Ø  Teacher gives instructions and shows a template on slide for them.
Ø  Teacher allocates 10 minutes for the student to finish their task.
Ø  Teacher asks the students to send the complete postcard via email.
Ø  Students moves into their pair.
Ø  Students ask if they do not understand the instruction.
Ø  Students open the activity through the given link.
Ø  Students begin to complete their task.
Ø  Students hand in their completed postcards via email.


CONCLUSION
 (5 minutes)
Ø  Teacher provides a brief summary of today’s lesson.
Ø  Teacher will print out the finished postcards and checked them to be given on the next class.
Ø  Students understand and recalls back previous lesson.
Ø  Students ask question on any inquiries.
